Complete Victorian Presentations

Media interest (and consequently that of the public) is often led by key anniversaries of historical dates and events. In turn, show organisers’ desires to cater to this increased public awareness led the Team to diversify its presentations.

This now covers almost all of the Victorian conflicts and uniforms that the 17th fought in, including that of the Crimean War (1853-56), Zulu War (1879), Boer War (1899-1902), as well as the last pattern Full Dress, as worn on Home Service in the 1890s.

In addition, the Team can also parade in complete First World War Service Dress. Whilst obviously not part of the Victorian era, WWI was the last great cavalry conflict and the equipment represents the culmination of centuries of British military development of man and horse as an offensive weapon.
